The new target was set on the basis of the Jakarta government’s ability to vaccinate 100 thousand people per day, according to Patria.
"With this figure, the target to vaccinate 11 million Jakartans can be completed in the subsequent months. It will be fulfilled at the latest by around September or October," the deputy governor noted.
However, Patria explained that the target was also based on the availability and distribution of vaccines received by the Jakarta Provincial Government.
"The vaccine is expected to be ready, so we can accelerate the implementation of vaccination to reach the targeted 11 million in September," Patria stated.
According to the Jakarta Health Service's report, the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine has recently been administered to 8,507,635 people, while the second dose has so far been given to 3,532,646 people.

President Joko Widodo directed the Jakarta government to vaccinate 7.5 million of its people by the end of August 2021. On July 31, Governor Anies Baswedan claimed that his administration had achieved the target.
"Thankfully, we are a month ahead of the scheduled target that has been set," Baswedan stated during a video recorded by the Jakarta administration.
Earlier, the Health Ministry, through its COVID-19 Vaccination Spokesperson Siti Nadia Tarmizi, remarked that Indonesia will receive 300 million vaccine doses from August to December 2021.
