The events are being hosted via the Zoom application and UI's official Youtube channel.
"A series of events consisting of online seminars, focus group discussions, and talk shows with speakers from various academic and business backgrounds will be held during the Innovation Month," Amelita Lusia, UI spokesperson, said in a statement released here on Wednesday.
Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Makarim, is scheduled to officially open a virtual innovation exhibition on August 30, 2021, as part of the events organized by the UI's Innovation and Science Techno Park Directorate.
On the first day of the Innovation Month, UI organized a seminar entitled 'Welcoming the 76th Independence of Indonesia with Independent Medical Devices Production: UI Ventilator in the LKPP E-Catalog' and a focus group discussion on 'Repositioning UI Relations and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) for Productivity Improvement and Research and Innovation Management'.

The discussion featured Dr. Laksana Tri Handoko, head of BRIN, and the UI's Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Nurtami, Ph.D., Sp,OF (K) and focused on the urgency and impact of increased collaboration between UI and BRIN in stepping up national innovation.
Dr. Handoko talked about research conducted by universities and its impact on the national research level, because the majority of current researchers are in universities.
Meanwhile, Nurtami recommended that the future UI-BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) relationship be based on the triple helix model (government, universities, and industry) to accommodate national research and innovation products.
