Jakarta (ANTARA) – Huawei Indonesia has joined the latest relief effort initiated by the Government of Indonesia to provide medical supplies and equipment as part of the nationwide fight against the coronavirus.
Jacky Chen, CEO Huawei Indonesia said, “During this pandemic uncertainty, medical supplies and equipment are indeed critical to save precious lives. We have seen the Government of Indonesia in their pursuit of ensuring sufficient supply amid reports on apparent shortage in regions. Huawei Indonesia recently arranged the shipments of medical equipment from China to Indonesia in order to support the government’s COVID-19 relief efforts.
Jacky said the latest support also reaffirms Huawei’s commitment to continuously providing contributions and creating values to society.
Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said, "I appreciate Huawei Indonesia for having taken an active part from private sector to support with the COVID-19 relief efforts. This pandemic is our battle, therefore, collective effort of all existing stakeholders such as the government, the private sector and the public is key to win this battle.”
Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said, “In this pandemic battle, none will be safe until everyone is safe. Therefore, any form of support during this outbreak is not only saving the lives of Indonesian people, but also example of humanitarian solidarity to get out from the pandemic.”
Since the early stages of the pandemic in 2020, Huawei has built emergency telecommunication infrastructure in Sebaru Island that served as a quarantine area. Series of donations in the form of masks, hand sanitizers and basic supplies have also been provided to a number of local communities, especially those in low-income brackets.
In addition, Huawei provided WIFI6 technology solution for high speed connectivity and Video Conferencing System for telemedicine solutions to RSPAD Gatot Subroto hospital. The doctors at RSPAD and Pertamedika hospital also received Huawei’s AI-assisted cloud solutions to help speed up diagnosis to COVID-19 patients by 6 times with accuracy rate up to 93%.
Beyond health issues, Huawei facilitates digital transformation and seamless remote learning experience by supporting 500 universities with 1,000 Cloud accounts.
