Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry distributed two thousand packages of fast food among residents under the Joint Movement of Tourism and Creative Economy Care (Geber) to mark the 76th anniversary of Indonesian independence on Tuesday.

“This Geber is part of our contribution and care,” Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Building in Jakarta.

Even though the tourism and creative economic sector is facing difficulties, the ministry is trying to encourage mutual help to face the pandemic and the economic challenges created by it, he said.

The minister expressed the hope that Geber, which he described as a humanitarian activity, would raise optimism among residents, particularly tourism and creative economy agents.

Under the Geber program, two thousand packages of fast food were distributed on Tuesday in a number of places in Jakarta in two tranches.

The first tranche was distributed to residents in Senen, Cikini, Matraman, Jatinegara, Harmoni, Pasar Baru, Gambir, Sabang, Tanah Abang, Cideng, Bundaran HI, Thamrin City, Cakung, Cilincing, Kebayoran Lama, Cileduk, and Majestik, the minister said.

The second tranche was distributed to residents in Blok M, Pondok Labu, Rawa Mangun, Sunter, Petamburan, Tomang, Tebet, Cawang, Cibubur, Bintaro, and Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), he added.
