Jakarta (ANTARA) - Pancasila values need to be internalized in each policy and decision taken by the government, Head of Human Resource Development from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights Asep Kurnia said.

During a seminar entitled 'Resilient Indonesia, Growing Indonesia: Internalizing Pancasila Among Students/Youths' on Thursday, Kurnia opined that internalizing Pancasila values is important when it comes to facing issues that erode Indonesia's nationalism in any facet of life.

Problems that erode Indonesia's sense of nationalism can be caused by political polarization, the spreading of hoaxes, as well as sensitive issues that stoke friction among groups, he noted.

The lack of Pancasila internalization, he said, can also cause someone to commit actions that deviate from the law, religious norms, and social norms.

"Internalizing Pancasila values can surely unite us all in handling every challenge," Kurnia asserted.

He said he believed that practicing Pancasila values will drive people to share, strengthen brotherhood, as well as boost the spirit of mutual assistance.

This is due to the fact that Pancasila is the foundation of Indonesia's establishment and has become a core part of civil living, he elaborated.

"We have to admit that Pancasila and Indonesia are inseparable since Pancasila is Indonesia's identity," Kurnia stressed.

Hence, he emphasized the importance of using Pancasila as a guide on how to behave in society.

Kurnia urged citizens to practice and internalize Pancasila values in all aspects of living, both as civil state officers (ASN) and fellow citizens.

"Because Pancasila values truly exist and have merged with Indonesians' sense of self as their collective philosophy and viewpoints," he explained.
