In particular, digital human resources are the human capital needed to boost productivity, achievement, and efficiency in religious education sector in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Communication and Informatics Minister Johny G Plate has said that Indonesia is improving the quality of digital talents by providing strategic stimulus through human resource training.

“In particular, digital human resources are the human capital needed to boost productivity, achievement, and efficiency in the religious education sector in Indonesia,” the minister noted during the opening of '2021 Digital Talent Scholarship: the Synergy of ICT Utilization in Strengthening Religious Moderation', according to a written statement issued here on Friday.

The Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) is a manifestation of the nation’s spirit in bolstering its human resource development in digital aspects, it said.

The program is also a strategic stimulus that offers inter-sector collaboration aimed at improving digital talent quality in Indonesia, it added.

The ministry is working with other ministries in order that the program can be conducted in synergy, efficiently, and optimally.

“Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the DTS is adapting through virtual training facilities, so the prioritized programs can be continually conducted in line with the pandemic handling interest in Indonesia,” Plate informed.

“We all hope that the program will not only be able to grow strong in driving the national digital transformation, but also be able to stay steadfast in upholding the religious values, moderated harmoniously with the spirit of national diversity, in attempts to realize a more advanced and digitally connected Indonesia,” he expounded.

Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said in a statement that the DTS is a strategic move to enhance the capacity of Indonesia’s human resources.

“The DTS program organized by the Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo), in my opinion, is a strategic move to optimize IT utilization as the media for enhancing human resource capacity,” he added.

The policies that support digital literacy should be simultaneously and sustainably improved in a bid to shape the public’s mindset in general, according to Qoumas.

Digital literacy contributes to shape religious life and behavior, he added.

“Hence, the Religious Affairs Ministry encourages anyone who has the adequate religious competence to take part in painting some colors in Indonesia’s digital platforms and participate in disseminating religious values,” he remarked.
