We are seeing people starting to become interested in health products so we are trying to offer them at relatively affordable prices.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - To help small, medium, and micro Enterprises (MSMEs) market their products, the provincial government of Jakarta has launched a digital program called 'Friday Buy Local', which has been incorporated into the Jakpreneur initiative, an official said.

"Friday Buy Local (Jumat Beli Lokal) is being held as an endeavor to improve access to MSME products marketing," economy and finance assistant at the Jakarta Regional Secretariat, Sri Haryati, informed at the 'Friday Buy Local' inaugural event here on Friday.

According to Haryati, the Friday Buy Local program will serve as an online exhibition of MSME products and will be held every Friday through social media and digital shopping channels.

The program was introduced through the Instagram account of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office, which is part of the Jakarta provincial government's social media accounts, she said.

"Various flagship products are exhibited in the program such as food, clothing, and handmade craft. For this inaugural program, the goods specifically offered are food products," she informed.

In Friday's the event, many MSMEs in Jakarta presented a variety of food products ranging from snacks, cakes, to health products such as honey.

One of the participating MSME players was M Alamudi from Cipayung district, East Jakarta, who sells almonds.

"We are seeing people starting to become interested in health products so we are trying to offer them at relatively affordable prices," Alamudi said.

To order the products sold by MSMEs, buyers can access the link https://linktr.ee/JumatBeliLokal and to browse the product variations, they can click bit.ly/SATUANJBLA and bit.ly/PAKETJBLA, Haryati informed.

Earlier, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin has said that the strategic digitalization of MSMEs can encourage the recovery of Indonesia's economy amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Product digitalization is increasingly relevant and strategic to make the MSMEs able to survive and play a major role in helping (the country's) economic recovery," he stated at the online commemoration of the 2021 National MSME Day.

Digitalization of MSMEs must also be balanced with increasing the capacity of business human resources and supporting market access policies for domestic products, he affirmed.
