Jakarta (ANTARA) - Two other COVID-19 patients were admitted at Kemayoran Wisma Atlet (Athlete's Village) Emergency Hospital for COVID-19, according to an official.

"All patients confirmed positive (for COVID-19 are being treated) at towers Four, Five, Six, and Seven, totaling 266. Initially (the day before), there were 264 people. There are two additional inpatients," Colonel Aris Mudian, coordinator for the emergency hospitals for COVID-19, said in a statement here on Thursday.

During the period from March 23, 2020, to September 30, 2021, a total of 128,094 patients were referred to the Athlete's Village Hospital.

Of the figure, 126,197 COVID-19 patients had recovered, while 1,035 others were referred to other hospitals.

Meanwhile, 596 patients have, so far, succumbed to COVID-19 at the hospital.

Mudian also furnished information on the condition of COVID-19 patients at the Galang Islands Hospital for Infectious Disease.

Currently, 295 infected patients are undergoing treatment at the Galang Islands Hospital for Infectious Disease, he stated.

"There are 295 inpatients, comprising 169 males and 126 females. All the 295 patients are confirmed positive for COVID-19," he revealed.

In the last 24 hours, eight additional patients were admitted in the hospital. The day before, there were 287 inpatients.

Between April 12, 2020, and September 30, 2021, the Galang Islands Hospital for Infectious Disease recorded a total of 16,656 patients. Of the number, 9,020 patients made a recovery, and 42 patients were referred to other hospitals, he remarked. Meanwhile, of the total patients, 7,297 patients have completed treatment at the hospital, he noted.

This is one of the several positive developments with regard to the pandemic situation. Several regions have currently downgraded their level of community activities restrictions on account of fewer people having contracted COVID-19.

The situation has improved to some extent now, and some leeway in activities has been provided, such as the reopening of limited face-to-face learning and malls.
