The expo ends on March 31, 2022.
“The overall target for visitors from the expo is 25 million. We want to take the 10-percent portion to 2.5 million visitors," the ministry's director general of national export development (PEN), Didi Sumedi, said on Friday.
The Indonesian Pavilion, which is themed "Creating the Future, From Indonesia to The World" and is based on the concept of "Connecting Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow", has been prepared since 2018, he informed.
The concept was chosen because the Indonesian Pavilion will showcase the nation's history and the importance of its role in the global arena, Sumedi informed.
This concept will be highlighted by showcasing Indonesian innovation, technology, and the advancement of its trade industry to provide visitors a better perspective of Indonesia's journey through the years and its contribution to global developments, he explained.

Therefore, the Indonesian Pavilion has been divided into three zones—Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow—which describe Indonesia's past, present, and future readiness, he said.
In the Yesterday zone, Indonesia is displaying various spices, which provided the basis for communication and trade with the outside world in the past, he informed.
"That is why the Dutch came to trade spices, from Arabia and India as well to take our spices. It created trade communications in the past,” Sumedi said.
Thus, the Indonesian Pavilion will reinforce Indonesia's commitment through its cultural and natural wealth at the international level, he added.
Not only that, Indonesia's participation in the Dubai Expo, which is the third largest event in the world and attended by 192 countries, is also an opportunity for nation branding, Sumedi said.
“Nation branding is our main goal in this expo. We will introduce the world to Indonesia's future role in the global arena. We will show this to the world through our pavilion at the Dubai Expo,” he added.
