We have proved that several state enterprises have established good cooperation with certain sports. Therefore, we are currently maximizing thatMimika, Papua (ANTARA) - State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir has said that he will maximize the role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in supporting the development of sports in Indonesia.
“I think we are consistent with the roadmap that has been made by the Youth and Sports Minister, which the President has read that we will focus on helping 17 sports,” he said at the Mimika Sports Center here on Monday.
He emphasized that several state enterprises have established good cooperation with certain sports.

“We have proved that several state enterprises have established good cooperation with certain sports. Therefore, we are currently maximizing that,” he said.
Several state enterprises like PT PLN, PT Telkom, and PT Freeport have supported the construction of facilities for Papua PON, he added.
“As stated by the Minister of Youth and Sports, indeed we all have to work together. Not everything has to be done only by the central government. We need to do it together," he said.

Therefore, regional governments are expected to manage PON assets well by holding events supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and also the Ministry of SOEs, he added.
Meanwhile, Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali lauded state enterprises and PT Freeport Indonesia for their immense support for the XX PON.

He also sought support from residents to help the government develop sports in Papua, noting the Papua Governor has asked the province to be developed as a ‘sports’ province.
"Governor Lukas Enembe has asked the government to establish Papua as a sports province. Therefore, It was the right decision to implement PON with excellent sports infrastructure in Jayapura, Mimika, and Merauke," Amali remarked.
