Papua (ANTARA) - Several spectators of the last weightlifting match at the XX Papua National Games (PON) had access to the COVID-19 vaccination service to receive their second dose of injection at the Cenderawasih University (Uncen) Auditorium, Jayapura, Saturday.

"I am very grateful about the vaccination center in here. I also happened to be looking for the second dose of the vaccine," a spectator, Irwandi Yogo Suaka, 43, told ANTARA.

Suaka, concurrently a lecturer at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Cenderawasih University, took advantage of the vaccination service by approaching the registration desk in front of the main door of the Uncen Auditorium.

The vaccination center necessitates recipients to show their first dose of vaccine certificate. Suaka had received the first dose of Sinopharm vaccine on September 11, 2021.

"I was hoping to watch Olympics lifter Nurul Akmal compete at this venue, but the official told me about the vaccination service. Hence, I registered at this vaccination center to receive the second dose," he noted.

Another spectator, Deshika Indah Sari, 21, received her first dose of vaccination at the same place.

"I am getting vaccination in this place while watching the match as well," Sari noted.

At first, she was uncertain about the vaccine's efficacy. However, since some of her family members had been vaccinated with no side-effects, she was convinced to get the vaccination as well.

Vaccination service officers at the Uncen Auditorium from the Papua Police have been offering the inoculation service since October 6, according to Junianti.

"We provide the first and second dose of vaccination as well. For the second dose, recipients must show their first dose vaccine certificate," she noted.

Junianti provides three service desks at the Uncen Auditorium comprising two COVID-19 vaccine tables and one table for the rapid antigen swab service desk.

"Only vaccinated spectators are allowed to enter the venue. We will monitor that during the process of exchanging tickets to bracelets at the audience registration table," she stated.
