"Constant influx of vehicles to the Gadog intersection has been recorded since Saturday dawn, and the traffic jam has reached Ciawi Tollgate (around 3.8 km from the intersection). Our observation of vehicles' car plates determined that a majority of vehicles have complied with the odd-even policy," Bogor Police's Traffic Patrol Unit head, Second Inspector Ardian, said at the Gadog intersection in Bogor on Saturday.
He also confirmed that his superiors had instructed officers on duty to implement a one-way traffic system allowing upstream traffic from Jakarta to enter the Puncak tourism area and closing downstream travel from Puncak.
"Our superiors have instructed us to implement the one-way road system, and the downstream traffic from Puncak to Jakarta has been closed," Ardian informed.
The one-way traffic system will be implemented until the incoming traffic no longer causes congestion, and the odd-even traffic control will be restored upon the road's reopening, he stated.

"We will continue the one-way traffic until the congestion from Ciawi Tollroad until the Gadog Intersection is remedied, and the odd-even traffic control is reinstated as the Puncak Road reopens to traffic from the two directions," Ardian informed.
The implementation of the odd-even traffic control system in the Puncak Road tourism area has entered the sixth week. The traffic control system is being applied from Friday noon until Sunday night every week.
Besides Bogor Police, the odd-even traffic control policy in Puncak Road is handled by regional police forces of Cianjur and Sukabumi, controlling the traffic on the road segment under their jurisdiction.
Earlier, Bogor district head Ade Yasin and Cianjur district head Herman Suherman had agreed to permanently implement the odd-even traffic control policy in the Puncak Road tourism area during a meeting on September 18, 2021 to address congestion.
