I invite North Penajam Paser residents with relevant competence to contribute to the new capital construction
North Penajam Paser, East Kali (ANTARA) - The central government has allocated Rp510 billion (around US$35.7 million) for the first stage of construction of the new capital in East Kalimantan, acting regional secretary for North Penajam Paser district, Muliadi, has said.



"The central government has allocated Rp510 billion for the first construction stage of the new capital in the 2022 Government Work Plan," Muliadi disclosed here on Tuesday.



He reiterated the importance of the new capital project as a national priority, saying the government's decision to set a high bar and standard for those seeking to participate in the construction project is appropriate.

"Because this is a project of national importance, it is appropriate that the workforce recruitment and cooperation agreement are performed with a certain standard in place," Muliadi said.



Residents of North Penajam Paser with relevant competence can participate in the construction process by joining the third-party contractor that has been appointed by the government, he informed.



"I invite North Penajam Paser residents with relevant competence to contribute to the new capital construction," he said.

He expressed the hope that the central government, the National Development Planning Agency, and the third-party contractor appointed by the government would prioritize North Penajam Paser residents in fulfilling the workforce needs for the new capital construction project.



"The government already gave the green light for local residents' involvement in the new capital construction project," Muliadi added.

Earlier, the central government had allocated around Rp275 billion (around US$19.2 million) for the construction of road infrastructure in Sepaku sub-district, North Penajam Paser, as part of the development of the new capital city.



It also invited the Indonesia Real Estate Association to assist in the construction of the new capital city.
