Developing Indonesia's young talent requires collaboration with various parties to create various opportunities for the younger generation to grow.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Development of young talent necessitates teaming up with several parties to create a competitive and quality youth generation in Indonesia, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) noted in a statement here on Tuesday.

"Developing Indonesia's young talent requires collaboration with various parties to create various opportunities for the younger generation to grow," BRIN's Head Laksana Tri Handoko noted.

Such a talent pool can be developed by applying a science- and innovation-based mentorship method that requires the participation of all parties, as BRIN cannot function singlehandedly, he affirmed.

Collaboration with parties -- government institutions, private industry, and community -- should align with the government's focus on development to cultivate talent in all sectors of education, culture, and sports, according to Handoko.

In future, BRIN will cooperate with the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry to create a young talent base in those sectors through education and character development, he affirmed.

This aligns with BRIN's efforts to realize its vision of honing capabilities in science and technology, research, and culture, as well as creating innovation through improving the quality of human resources, Handoko explained.

The BRIN has created a development scheme for science and tech human resources, with the design to manage national talent in the research and innovation sector, he noted.

This aims to back the government's effort to create an ecosystem that supports the development of a competitive youth generation, especially in the fields of education, research, and innovation, he remarked.

This is supported by the presence of BRIN, with the biggest and most complete resources, in terms of human resources, infrastructure, and budget after integrating four non-ministerial government institutions and several research and development units.

These four institutions are the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), Indonesian Institute of Sciences, National Nuclear Power Agency, and the National Atomic Energy Agency.
