ProKlim aims to encourage people to improve climate resilience through adaptation actions and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through mitigation, she said.
In addition, ProKlim also encourages activity collaborations and synergy between sectors, she added.
Indonesia is aiming to create 20 thousand Climate Village Program locations by 2024, she informed.
Achieving this target would require support from various parties because the state budget would not be enough, Arundhati said.

She highlighted that the prerequisite for becoming a climate village is the existence of a community institution that has conducted adaptation and mitigation actions for at least two years.
These actions should be carried out at the Rukun Warga (RW) level at a minimum and at village level at maximum, she added. They can also be conducted for a community within a special territory, she explained.
Examples of such communities include pesantrens (Islamic boarding schools), parishes, and universities, she said.
The director emphasized the importance of creating climate villages since climate change has been attributed to human activities and therefore, its mitigation necessitates the people's involvement.

Through ProKlim, the ministry is encouraging contribution and improvement in the people's adaptation and mitigation capability to cope with various impacts of climate change, Arundhati said.
Meanwhile, Indonesia has asserted its commitment to do actual work to handle climate change at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), Forestry and Environment Minister Siti Nurbaya said.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has reaffirmed the country's commitment during bilateral meetings with several world leaders and during the COP26 Summit in Glasgow, Scotland, the UK, Nurbaya noted in a statement received here on Tuesday.
