Cikarang, Bekasi (ANTARA) - Bekasi District's COVID-19 Handling Policy Committee confirmed to having prepared three centralized isolation locations for COVID-19 patients and taken precautionary measures against the third wave of the virus.

"Apart from being used for the treatment of active patients, we have prepared three centralized isolation places as a precautionary measure against the third wave that is forecast to hit Indonesia in late to early next year," Deputy of the Bekasi District COVID-19 Policy Committee, Senior Commissioner Hendra Gunawan, stated on Friday.

The three designated centralized locations were the Ibis Budget Hotel and Citra Inn in South Cikarang Sub-district and the Ibis Style Hotel in Jababeka, North Cikarang.

Meanwhile, the luxury housing complexes of Baverly Hills Jababeka, Health Training Center (Bapelkes) Cikarang, and President University Residency are no longer being used as centralized isolation locations.

"Those places are no longer being used after a very significant decline in the number of active cases recently," Gunawan explained.

He admitted that currently, most COVID-19 patients preferred to undergo self-isolation in their respective homes, except for a few patients undergoing treatment in centralized isolation.

"There are only three patients in centralized isolation but that does not mean the pandemic is over," he cautioned.

Speaking in connection with Bekasi District's community mobility restriction (PPKM) status that was lowered to level 1, Gunawan urged the public to continue to implement strict health protocols on account of the increase in community activity in the region.

"Do not be careless in following the health protocols, especially for activities outside the home," Gunawan remarked.

Based on data until November 5, the cumulative count of COVID-19 cases in Bekasi District since the start of the pandemic was 51,306 cases, comprising 50,731 people being cured, 542 people having succumbed to the disease, and 33 active cases.
