Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - The government of Tangerang District, Banten Province, has allowed all elementary schools to implement limited face-to-face learning under the strict observance of health protocols.

"The implementation of face-to-face learning in elementary schools has been allowed after seeing the smooth running of face-to-face learning in Junior High Schools," Regional Secretary of Tangerang District, Moch Maesal Rasyid, informed here on Saturday.

Face-to-face learning has been allowed in all elementary schools, including madrassas (Islamic schools), and the safety of students will be accorded priority during the learning process, he said.

In addition to elementary schools, face-to-face learning has also been allowed at early childhood education (PAUD) and kindergarten (TK) levels in Tangerang District under the observance of strict health protocols, he added.

"The implementation of face-to-face learning for elementary schools, madrassas, PAUD, and TK will commence on Monday (November 8, 2021). We will conduct face-to-face learning simulations first," he informed.

He also appealed to parents and students to not throw caution to the wind and ignore the health protocols in welcoming the implementation of face-to-face learning.

Meanwhile, head of the Tangerang District Education Office, Syaefullah, put the number of public elementary schools in Tangerang District at 749 and private elementary schools at 341.

All the schools have been cleared for conducting face-to-face learning with attendance capped at 50 percent, he said.

"All students are ready to partake in face-to-face learning. Reflecting at the face-to-face learning at the junior high school level, no one has confirmed positive for COVID-19," he remarked.
