According to Pambagio, the general tariff for emissions tests for both four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles cannot be determined. He reasoned that companies, with official garages, have the right to set their commercial price.
"The cost of emissions tests cannot be regulated, as there are no provisions. It can be regulated by using tariff limits, but it is not possible to fix the price," he noted here on Wednesday.
He explained that several official workshops also provide free emissions test services if the vehicle owner uses their other services.
However, due to the high demand, official and general workshops that have emissions test tools are currently opening special vehicle emissions test services, Pambagio pointed out.
"I say that if the (vehicle owners) use their service, the emission checks are usually free. Now, there is a special emissions test service, but it is up to the workshops to set the price, as they are privately owned," he explained.

Currently, 254 garages offer four-wheeled vehicle emissions test services and 15 for two-wheeled vehicles.
The cost for emissions tests also varies between Rp150 thousand and Rp200 thousand for cars, while from Rp50 thousand to Rp100 thousand for motorcycles.
Meanwhile, emissions test services for cars and motorcycles were available for free at Jakarta's Environment Office in Cililitan, East Jakarta.
The free emission test services were also available at Central Jakarta's Environment Office, where they had 200 quotas, 150 of which were for gasoline vehicles and 50 for solar vehicles, according to the Office's Head of Supervision and Environmental Impact Control and Hygiene, Rizki Sari Sinta Dewi, here on Wednesday.
Dewi explained that the free emissions test aimed at raising awareness of Gubernatorial Regulation No. 66 of 2020 on the Motor Vehicle Emissions Test.
