Gojek customers and train service users will be able to plan more efficient and comprehensive trips with various modes of transportation in one GoTransit feature.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Gojek, Southeast Asia's leading on-demand platform, and PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (PT KCI) announced the world's first collaboration in integrating KRL tickets with on-demand services for a comprehensive commute solution. This strategic collaboration embodies the two companies’ vision to facilitate the use of public transportation.

In this strategic collaboration, Gojek and PT KCI will develop features in GoTransit that will allow users to order Gojek transportation services (GoRide and GoCar) to and from commuter stations as well as commuter train tickets directly from the Gojek application in just one purchase bundle. This integration is targeted to be enjoyed by users in early 2022. Later, users can make payments using GoPay, or other options such as LinkAja.

With this collaboration, GoTransit can provide services and commute planning that is even more efficient. It allows users to monitor trips through integrated route recommendations, compares prices for public transportation modes as needed, chooses the most efficient travel routes, provides estimates of total commute time, as well as public transportation operational schedules.

Kevin Aluwi, Co-Founder and CEO of Gojek said, "This collaboration with PT KCI is our first step to being able to connect public transportation (middle mile) to the Gojek ecosystem. Based on our internal data, most customers use GoRide and GoCar services as a means of connecting the start and end of the trip (first-mile-last-mile) to and from the commuter train station in Jabodetabek. This shows that the presence of GoRide and GoCar services has become an important part that complements public transportation to meet the mobility needs of people in urban areas such as Jabodetabek.”

Gojek's internal data reinforces Kevin’s statement, stating that 1 in 2 Gojek customers actively use Gojek services from or to transportation hubs. Eleven (11) locations of Commuter Line and Long Distance Train stations are also the most frequently ordered departure points and destinations for GoRide service users in Greater Jakarta, even when compared to other locations such as shopping centers, restaurants, or shops. "This strategic collaboration with PT KCI is a perfect solution to make it easier for people to commute and will be integrated as soon as possible in the GoTransit feature," Kevin continued.

In line with Gojek, PT KCI continues to encourage integration between public transportation modes to improve the convenience of public transportation users. This includes the ease with which people move between modes.

Roppiq Lutzfi Azhar, President Director of PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia, said, "We are building a collaboration with Gojek, which is in line with our focus on making it easier for people to reach train stations. GoRide and GoCar services answer challenges related to public transportation nodes that are sometimes still difficult for the public to reach. This strategic collaboration is a joint effort to maximize intermodal integration so that users can commute easily, completely with minimal private vehicles. This is in line with our focus on increasing urban interest in using public transportation.”

"With more than 70% of Millennials currently joining KAI Commuter, we hope that this collaboration with Gojek through the GoTransit service will result in innovation in public services, especially Commuterline users. We appreciate this collaboration; in addition to facilitating service access, this collaboration can also transmit the use of the latest technology in the development of public transportation services in the future, "continued Roppiq.

Since 2020, Gojek has collaborated with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the Indonesian Ministry of SOEs and the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation to integrate four integrated stations in DKI Jakarta by providing GoRide Instant services at Juanda Station, Sudirman Station, Tanah Abang Station, and Pasar Senen Station. In addition, Gojek also provides pick-up points at 27 stations spread across Greater Jakarta.
