According to the committee, Indonesian athletes will compete in seven sports at the event: para-athletics, para-badminton, boccia, para-powerlifting, para-swimming, para-taekwondo, and para-table tennis.
Eight athletes will compete in para-athletics—Sholahuddin Al-Ayyubi, I Nyoman Mahendra Yasa, Wakhidun, Yunika Anastasya, Ryan Arda Diarta, Firza Faturahman Listianto, Muhamad Dimas Ubaidillah, and Mila Sapriani.
Meanwhile, Tiara Hanum Kembang Joyo, Pria Wibawa, Mutiara Cantik Harsanto, M. Gerry Pahker, Rahmad Tulloh, Tara Athaya Yasykur, and Stensen Pradarma Tiar will represent the country in para-swimming.
Meanwhile, Rifki Mamunudin, Muhammad Dicky Ferdiansyah, Cici Juliani, Siti Fadhillah, Faisal Iksan, Imas Yuniar, and Hilmi Azizi will compete in para-table tennis.
Furthermore, six athletes—Adinda Nugraheni, Tegar Santoso, Muhammad Fajri Ibrahim, Anisa Fitriyani, Warining Rahayu, and Hikmat Ramdani—will participate in para-badminton.
Three athletes will compete in boccia—Febriyanti Vani Rahmadhani, Muhammad Bintang Satria, and Muhamad Afrizal Syafa.
Meanwhile, Dwiska Afrilia Maharani and Elsa Dewi Saputri will compete in para-powerlifting.
In addition, two para-taekwondo athletes, Muhammad Rizki and Iqbal Fauzi Ramadhan, will take part in the games.
According to the official site of the Asian Paralympic Committee, around 800 young athletes aged under 23 are expected to compete in nine sports at the event.
In addition to the seven sports in which Indonesia will compete, the games will feature two more sports, namely goalball and wheelchair basketball.
The Asian Youth Para Games is the largest sporting event for young athletes with disabilities in Asia. It was first held in Tokyo, Japan in 2009.
The last edition of the event was held in Dubai in 2017. Japan got first place, followed by Iran and China.
Meanwhile, Indonesia took seventh place by bagging 16 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
