Same with the latest findings from this school, all those who are confirmed positive are in good condition with no symptomsYogyakarta (ANTARA) - The Yogyakarta City COVID-19 Handling Task Force recorded an additional 14 COVID-19 infections at one school implementing face-to-face learning (PTM) during testing.
"There are an additional 14 (positive) cases from one school. We are currently tracing the close contacts of both the students and their families," head of the Yogyakarta COVID-19 Task Force Heroe Poerwadi said here on Monday.
With the addition of these cases, at least 40 students have so far been found positive for COVID-19 during testing at schools implementing PTM, he informed.
However, Poerwadi said that all students were in good condition and did not show any symptoms.
"Same with the latest findings from this school, all those who are confirmed positive are in good condition with no symptoms," he noted.
It is necessary to conduct further tracing to ascertain the source of transmission because after tracing, usually no transmission has been found in families and classmates, he said.
With the detection of additional cases, the Yogyakarta City COVID-19 Handling Task Force is planning to continue testing students who have attended PTM at their school, he added.
"The testing will be adjusted to the activities at the school. When the school is ready, we will immediately start the screening. Hopefully, we can get as many samples as possible," he remarked.
Meanwhile, the head of the Yogyakarta City Education Service, Budi Santosa Asrori, said that learning activities in December will be mostly carried out online.
"Face-to-face learning will be limited by following strict health protocols," he added while citing the positive rate of examination results at around 1.5 percent.
On Monday, Yogyakarta city reported two additional positive confirmed cases of COVID-19, with two patients recovering or completing isolation and no deaths reported. The city currently has 52 active cases.
