The Ministry of Finance will continue to synergize with the law enforcement apparatus, mainly while designing and deciding on extraordinary matters
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati laid due weightage to synergy among all parties, especially ministries and institutions, in the efforts to prevent corruption, as it is an enemy that should be fought together.

"The Ministry of Finance will continue to synergize with the law enforcement apparatus, mainly while designing and deciding on extraordinary matters," she remarked during this year's commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day at the Finance Ministry here on Wednesday.

As Indonesia faces the COVID-19 pandemic, Indrawati noted that her team had continued to conduct brainstorming in planning and executing programs and figuring out its weaknesses.

To this end, Indrawati pointed out that the ministry had synergized with Law Enforcement Officers (APH) comprising the National Police, Office of the Attorney General, and Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for coordination to detect, indicate, and prevent anomalies.

She also drew attention to the ministry's constant monitoring of any risk posed to the government's reputation. According to Indrawati, the ministry that she led continues to work along with the APH in concrete ways that are stipulated in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the implementation of the state budget and finance surveillance.

Moreover, the synergy is also conducted along with the government’s internal supervisory apparatuses (APIP) of ministries, institutions, and regions, Internal Supervisory Unit (SPI), and Government’s Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP).

Those institutions synergize efforts through coordination for planning, implementation, report monitoring, proposing guidelines, developing the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and exchanging surveillance data and information.

"We have a responsibility, as the state general treasurer, to ensure that all resources are utilized according to the purpose and program. (Hence), corruption does not occur," she stressed.

In addition, she explained that synergy for the prevention of corruption is also implemented with Indonesia's Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) through data collection, audit, providing information and data on program observation reports, as well as strategic communication and action plans.
