We are committed to ensuring that marine and fishery products are truly accepted in export destination countriesJakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is ready to maintain the scope of acceptance of marine and fishery products from the Republic of Indonesia to as many as 171 countries worldwide.
Acting Head of the Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products Agency (BKIPM) at the KKP Hari Maryadi in a statement here on Thursday, highlighted his side's commitment to providing quality and safety assurance to achieve the target of maintaining the coverage of Indonesia's marine and fishery products in the 171 countries.
"Last year, our marine and fishery products penetrated 171 of 195 countries in the world. Of course, this must be maintained through the provision of quality assurance and good security," Maryadi noted.

In addition, Maryadi pointed to the 98-percent target ratio for the acceptance of fish and fishery product exports by export destination nations.
Meanwhile, the issuance of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certificates for products at fish processing units (UPIs) is targeted at three thousand certified products issued by 42 technical implementing units (UPTs) of BKIPM across Indonesia.
"We are committed to ensuring that marine and fishery products are truly accepted in export destination countries," Maryadi stated.
To achieve the target, he affirmed that the BKIPM continues to bolster various forms of synergy and collaboration with various institutions.
According to Maryadi, this pertained to entering into a cooperation agreement with PT Angkasa Pura II to increase direct calls for fishery products from various airports in Indonesia to destination countries.

He noted that direct calls were able to overcome problems faced by business actors, such as operating costs, while exporting.
In 2022, Maryadi expressed his readiness to support acceleration of the program launched by Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.
Moreover, he stated that Indonesia's fishery production potential had reached 916.2 thousand tons on the island of Sumatra, 247 thousand tons in Kalimantan, and 232.4 thousand tons on the island of Java.
"We are ready to support acceleration, so that products are certified to ensure quality and safety and increase competitiveness as mandated by Minister Trenggono," he added.
