As of 12 p.m. local time on Friday, the total number of people who have received the second dose reached 116,114,884, an increase of 560,300 from the previous day, the task force reported.
Meanwhile, the number of people who have received the first dose increased by 819,816 to reach 168,819,593.
The recipients of the third or booster dose, the majority of whom were health workers, stood at 1,297,372, the task force reported.

The government is aiming to vaccinate at least 208,265,720 people to achieve herd immunity against the infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
It plans to achieve this target by March or April 2022 and is expanding vaccination services in order to do so.
COVID-19 vaccinations are still on in several regions.
The COVID-19 vaccination program initially targeted human resources in the health sector, public service workers, the elderly, the general public, and vulnerable groups.

Now, it has been expanded to include pregnant and breastfeeding women, teenagers aged 12 to 17 years, and children aged 6 to 11 years.
The government is also planning to roll out the third or booster shots for the general public.
According to the Minister of Communication and Informatics, Johnny G. Plate, the government has continued to expand the COVID-19 vaccination as a form of protection effort against a potential spike in Omicron infections.
