"The Education Office will also coordinate with the municipal Health Office to reschedule vaccination for teachers for around 10 percent of the unvaccinated teaching staff," Education Office head Hanafi noted in Bogor on Saturday.
The official reiterated the need to fulfil the requirement of 100-percent vaccination coverage among teachers in the city before the authority could reopen schools with 100-percent capacity.
Unvaccinated teachers must promptly get their vaccine dose, he remarked while warning that those objecting to receiving the vaccine dose without a valid medical exemption will be penalised.
Drawing reference to the ministerial decision, Hanafi noted that schools in Bogor City had fulfilled the requirements of a minimum of 80-percent vaccination coverage among teachers and school staff to reopen the school with full capacity.

Of the 3,435 teachers registered in the education office database, vaccination coverage among teachers has reached 94.9 percent, equal to 3,259 teachers, from the entire teacher populace in the city, he noted.
Despite the high vaccination coverage, schools in Bogor could not reopen with full capacity, as the city is currently under level 2 of activities restriction enforcement (PPKM), and the instruction from the West Java Education Office directed schools in Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi to delay the school reopening with full capacity until the end of the month, the office head explained.
"This means offline school activities will remain restricted to 50 percent out of the total school capacity. We will also instruct schools to distribute the student report cards during several periods next Monday to ensure health protocols can be enforced," Hanafi stated.
Making the most of the school holiday period, the education office continues to promote vaccination for children aged 6-11 years in Bogor to expedite herd immunity in the city, he stated.
According to Bogor City Health Office's data, around 83,816 children aged 6-11 years in Bogor, or equal to 82.85 percent of the total 101,164 children in the demographic group, have received their first vaccine dose, the official added.
