We have recorded 90-percent vaccination coverage, while the remaining 10 percent of the pupils are not vaccinated, as they have a health issueBandung, West Java (ANTARA) - Stringent health protocols were enforced on the first day of school reopening at full capacity in Bandung, West Java, to ensure no COVID-19 cases surfaced during the process.
Bandung Municipal Education Office head Hikmat Ginanjar highlighted the importance of face-to-face offline learning activities, as students can study better in an offline environment where they can interact more freely with teachers.
"Pupils need teachers , who can set an example, which they can emulate by watching them in class," Ginanjar remarked while observing school reopening activities at the 43 Junior High School in Regol Sub-district, Bandung, on Monday.
A total of 886 pupils of the 43 Junior High School attended school on its first day of reopening, with pupils from different grades being assigned to different sessions to prevent crowding, he remarked.

The first class for grade VII pupils started at 7 a.m. local time, while grade VIII attended their first class at 7:40 a.m. local time, and the first class for grade IX pupils commenced at 8:20 a.m. local time, he noted.
The school administrator has adjusted the arrival and departure procedures for pupils to ensure health protocols can be enforced during the two critical periods, the office head remarked.
Pupils are also instructed to register their attendance and undergo temperature checks during their arrival to and departure from the school, he remarked.
Meanwhile, 43 Junior High School principal Khaerawati affirmed that her school had adhered to the existing regulations during reopening.

Vaccination coverage among school pupils has also reached 90 percent, she noted.
"We have recorded 90-percent vaccination coverage, while the remaining 10 percent of the pupils are not vaccinated, as they have a health issue," Khaerawati remarked.
As a precautionary measure, the school has prepared a clinic for pupils to use if they suddenly feel ill, the principal affirmed.
"If the pupil's condition is not improving after staying at the clinic for more than 30 minutes, then we will urge their parents to pick up their children for going home," she stated.
