Bandung, West Java (ANTARA) - A total of 26,312 vocational high school students in the West Java Province partook in the inaugural digital business class training program to be hosted for up to a year from January 2022.

"This digital business class training program is implemented in collaboration with Shopee Indonesia. The training is conducted for up to 12 months starting from January 2022 and involved 206 vocational schools," Head of the West Java Education Office, Dedi Supandi, noted in a statement received in Bandung on Tuesday.

He remarked that 406 teachers attended the training for trainers, while 26,312 students were attendees at the training in digital business classes for vocational students.

Supandi remarked that the Digital Business Curriculum for Vocational High Schools, which commenced at the Bogor 1 State Vocational High School, was aimed at providing opportunities to teachers and students to increase their knowledge and hone their skills in the digital business field.

"Thus, in future, it can reduce the unemployment (rate) and improve the people's welfare," he noted.

He expounded that cooperation between the Education Office and the online shopping platform encompassed preparing the curriculum, modules, and teaching materials; disseminating information on the training program; and organizing training for students and teachers and also field work practices, internships, and recruitment of workers.

"Preparations have been made since June 2021 by conducting outreach, curriculum preparation, and readying teaching materials and modules. Meanwhile, the ToT for vocational high school teachers has been conducted since September and ends in early December 2021," he revealed.

"Monitoring and evaluation of activities could be conducted together, so that the success of the training will be more optimal," he added.
