Jakarta (ANTARA) - Village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) need to utilize digital marketing to market their products to the public, Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Minister Abdul Halim Iskandar has said.



"There have been changes in people's behavior due to COVID-19. Those who used to shop conventionally have migrated to online shopping. This encourages people's new habits in shopping to become more practical," he explained in a written statement here on Friday.



He said the advancement of technology has helped people to conduct various activities, including economic activities.

Aside from being more practical, technology and the Internet also provide several other benefits, such as saving time, saving costs, as well as faster speed, and wider coverage, he said.



The convenience offered by digital technology is a great opportunity for enterprises, including village-owned enterprises, to sell their products, he added.



During a visit to Cikahuripan village, Cisolok sub-district, Sukabumi, West Java, the minister said that if village-owned enterprises want to target customers on social media, their marketing teams should adopt digital marketing strategies and promote their products through online advertisements, e-mail marketing, online brochures, among others.

He lauded the administrator of the Sumber Kahuripan village-owned enterprise, which has adopted digital marketing strategies to promote its products to people.



Iskandar said that adopting digital marketing would make it easier for enterprises to expand their marketing coverage.



In addition, it could also help them to interact with prospective consumers and provide them information about their products or services.



Iskandar visited the Sumber Kahuripan village-owned enterprise to commemorate eight years of the issuance of Law Number 6 of 2014 regarding Village.
