Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies (KITLV) will work on a joint project "Recording the Future" to record Indonesians' daily activities for future reference.

"This research collaboration will not only produce video data but will also strengthen BRIN's network with the renowned academic institution in the Netherlands," BRIN's official Ahmad Najib Burhani noted through a written statement on Monday.

This collaboration is also being conducted in the scientific publication department, as the KITLV has an internationally accredited publishing house.

To this end, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to improve the research collaboration.

The cooperation under the MoU aims to promote scientific activities between BRIN and KITLV through cooperative research and other types of exchanges, BRIN's People and Culture Research Center Head Lilis Mulyani noted.

The scientific cooperation program within the MoU encompasses social and humanities science in Indonesia.

"This collaboration is deemed necessary to build collaboration in recording Indonesian people's social life," she noted.

Both parties agreed to continue the Recording the Future (RtF) audiovisual resolution program aimed at documenting the daily life in Indonesia for at least four years from the RtF program.

Hence, audiovisual documentation to record the future concerning daily activities in Indonesia could be implemented well.

In addition, the BRIN has integrated the research and development duty and function of 919 research units in 74 ministries or institutions.

BRIN's Head, Laksana Tri Handoko, noted that the integration will be determined to become 12 Research Organizations (OR) and 85 Research Centers (PR) in BRIN's environment.

"From the 18 OR and 104 PR that we had delivered, 12 OR and 85 PR had been approved," he noted.
