“There are only yellow and orange tags for villages in Yogyakarta City. None (is tagged as) green zone, and until now, there is no red zone," Head of the Yogyakarta COVID-19 Task Force Heroe Poerwadi stated on Friday.
Some 17 of the 45 villages in Yogyakarta were tagged as orange, while the other 18 received the yellow tag.
Poerwadi believes that the increase in COVID-19 cases in Yogyakarta was expected to continue until the end of February and projected to decline in early March. As of Friday, some 2,907 active cases were recorded after an additional 267 new cases and 45 recoveries.
Currently, most of the transmission occurs in the community. However, some challenges still exist in the process of tracing close contacts of patients confirmed positive for COVID-19.

This is since several health workers in public health centers were exposed to COVID-19.
Poerwadi believes it also hindered the vaccination process in the city. However, he ensured that his administration was leaving no stone unturned to expedite vaccination.
Some cases were also found in offices, including in the local government. These cases were found at the Gondokusuman Sub-district Office, with the latest one being from the Gedongkiwo Village Office, Mantrijeron Sub-district, which lead to its temporary closure.
Head of Mantrijeron Sub-district Affrio Sunarno noted that the place was closed for five days from Thursday, February 17, to Tuesday, February 22, after two employees were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
Sunarno noted that the cases were still quite under control in Mantrijeron. Currently, all villages under its administration had yellow tags.
Apart from Gedongkiwo, two other villages in Mantrijeron Sub-district were Suryodiningratan and Mantrijeron.
He stated that small posts were assigned to each village to monitor developments in the number of COVID-19 cases in the respective villages.
