Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia Eximbank (LPEI) presented Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to partake in the new exporter startup program called the Coaching Program for New Exporter (CPNE) at the G20 event.

The participants of CPNE at the G20 event aimed to showcase the resilience of Indonesian SMEs amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Indonesia Eximbank Executive Director Rijani Tirtoso stated here on Friday.

"At the Indonesia G20 Presidency, we presented 16 selected SMEs as a result of the consulting services program, CPNE, a year-long continuous training program," Tirtoso explained.

The bank's executive director noted that CPNE programs supported financial inclusion for export-oriented SMEs to produce new exporters.

These SMEs can be found at the Rumah Joglo and Rumah Minahasa stands at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, that showcase several products ranging from fashion, handcrafts, and house decor to accessories.

Moreover, the non-power loom from one of the mentored partners that produce sarong fabric was brought to the JCC and drew the attention of several delegates and also Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati.

CPNE is one of the government's lawful mandates for the LPEI to create new exporters. During the COVID-19 pandemic alone, the program has graduated more than two thousand alumni.

"The aspiration is to accelerate sustainable financial inclusion for SMEs, especially pertaining to exports, which aligns with one of Indonesia's G20 Finance Track agendas: Digital and SMEs," Tirtoso added.

Indonesia's 2022 G20 Presidency is a historic event bearing the theme "Recover Together, Recover Stronger." Indonesia invites world leaders to work together, synergize, collaborate, and support one another to rise from the pandemic in a sustainable way.

The LPEI, in its efforts to boost national exports, is one of the Special Mission Vehicles (SMV) under the Finance Ministry.
