"So far, the COVID-19 vaccination rate among children aged 6-11 years from all sub-districts receiving the first vaccine dose has reached 92.45 percent," the task force's spokesperson, Boy Yandra, said in Sungailiat on Sunday.
He also disclosed that the second dose of vaccine among members of the same age group was capped at 62.57 percent, with as many as 23,139 children as recipients. He expected that the rate for both vaccination doses would continue to increase.
As for the general public, the number of first dose recipients had reached 199,227 people or 78.27 percent of the targeted 255,161 people, and the second dose had been administered to 162,365 people or 63.63 percent.
He reminded those who had yet to be inoculated to immediately get their vaccine shots at the nearest outlets.

He also said that although the region's vaccination rate had exceeded the target set up nationwide, they still continuously offer the vaccination services, including booster shots.
There were 14,263 residents in Bangka District who had received booster vaccine, based on data on the development of booster vaccine services for general public, Yandra said.
Yandra also compelled those who have already received second dose of vaccine and are eligible for a booster shot to get their next shot as soon as possible at the places where it is offered.
Indonesia has been expediting efforts to vaccinate people in a bid to protect them from COVID-19 infections, especially with the Omicron variant spreading nationally.
