When I undertook a work visit to West Java, I saw it for myself how this digital village program can work well
Surabaya, East Java (ANTARA) - It is time for East Java to implement the digital village concept since the province possesses the requisite resource for it, speaker of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) A. A. LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti stated.

In his press statement on Tuesday, Mattalitti noted that since the region is quite large, the application of the digital village concept becomes the solution to empower the people's economy.

"Now is the era of digitalization. East Java's potential is quite high. I think that East Java should implement the digital village program," he remarked.

The senator cited West Java as an example. Almost all villages in West Java have been digitally integrated within one system.

"When I undertook a work visit to West Java, I saw it for myself how this digital village program can work well," he remarked.

"When I requested to be shown one of the villages in Cianjur, I could clearly see everything, such as the village's potential and its economic base," he noted.

To this end, he encouraged the East Java provincial government to start implementing the digital village concept across the province.

Meanwhile, Head of East Java’s Communication and Information Office, Hudiyono, expects online CCTV-based monitoring to be implemented in the entire East Java territory.

“We have not yet implemented this real-time CCTV in the entire region. I expect that this digital village can immediately be implemented with the support of the DPD," he remarked.

In the past, a meeting group diligently conducted activity monitoring in villages that ably supported the development of every potential, he pointed out.

"I believe that we can revive a pattern or model like this, so that we can unearth the potential of the people in villages," he explained.

In terms of the potential, Hudiyono deemed East Java to be one of the regions with the largest number of internet users in Indonesia.

"I think that this is the potential that should be maximized," he affirmed.
