QRIS is the national QR code standard for facilitating payments using QR codes in Indonesia.
"Last year, we have digitized 14 million merchants that are mostly MSMEs. Warjiyo affirmed that BI will continue to support the expansion of MSME digitalization as an effort to empower MSMEs in Indonesia apart from conducting clustering, entrepreneurship training, and facilitating MSMEs' access to banking.
Moreover, BI will attract more MSMEs to partake in the Gernas BBI movement with a better and digitized curation process.
Warjiyo noted that the BI will also continue to encourage local MSMEs to conduct business matching with business players in export destination countries, so that MSME products can be exported abroad.

"We will then raise awareness among members of the generation Z and millennials to become involved in the MSME movement as an effort to build the character to always develop a liking for local products belonging to MSMEs," he noted.
The BI governor is optimistic that ministries and agencies from the central and regional governments would continue to make efforts to improve the performance of MSMEs and encourage them to contribute to the economy.
"We expect synergy from all ministries and agencies as well as from local governments, including South Sulawesi, to become the hub of eastern Indonesia," he stated.
