The government has provided the additional 82,277 STB units for distribution before the date of the analog switch-off's first phase, he added.
Ismail remarked that the data of STB unit recipients was compiled from the household data of the Social Affairs Ministry.
The STB unit will be distributed to eligible recipients in 56 regions in 166 cities and districts and is expected to conclude by the date designated for the first phase of analog switch-off on April 30, 2022, he remarked.
The acting secretary general then urged residents not eligible for the STB unit assistance to purchase the unit on their own to be able to watch television broadcasts of better quality after the analog switch-off.
"We urge residents to purchase STB units on their own and not delay their purchase until the analog switch-off proceeds," Ismail emphasized.
