The number of registrants for the 2022 SBMPTNP is targeted to double compared to the 2021 SBMPTNP, when it was 17,593.Praya, West Nusa Tenggara (ANTARA) - The Tourism and Creative Economy Minister has announced the Computer-based Exam for State Tourism University Entrance (SBMPTNP) for selecting 3,355 prospective students for six State Tourism Universities (PTNPs) in Indonesia.
"If you want to be graduates who are ready to work or create job opportunities in the tourism sector, you can study at one of the ministry’s six PTNPs," Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said at the virtual launch of the SBMPTNP at the Lombok Tourism Polytechnic,here, on Tuesday.
Indonesia has great tourism potential, thus a lot of quality human resources must be prepared and developed professionally, he added.
To do this, the ministry is providing great opportunities to youngsters for undertaking higher education through PTNPs to become tourism and creative economy actors with excellent hospitality, he said.
"In 2022, campus orientation activities for the new students will focus on the development of the participants’ character, personality, interests, and abilities to become tourism players who have great hospitality," the minister added.

Meanwhile, secretary of the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, Ni Wayan Giri Adyani, informed that the admission for the 2022–2023 academic year will be carried out through two selection channels.
The first one is the Simultaneous Entrance Exam (SBM), with a quota of 60 percent of the total accepted students. Meanwhile, the second channel is the Independent Entrance Exam (SMM) with a quota of 40 percent.
"The implementation of the exams is aimed at getting new students who are superior, qualified, creative, entrepreneurial, and virtuous," Adyani remarked.

The SMM channel will accept several types of students, such as those who have several achievements, come from education entities that have a tie-up with PTNPs, or have a disability, the official said.
The channel will also receive students who have an interest in entrepreneurship and community empowerment, as well as those who want to learn in an international class, Adyani said.
