Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 220, it added.

"Almost every day, there are COVID-19 patients who are reported to have recovered," spokesperson for the task force, Dr. Firman Rahmatullah, said in Lebak on Saturday.

Those who have recovered after undergoing self-isolation at home were supervised by the local village and sub-district COVID-19 task forces, and an isolation center was also prepared by the regional government in the Banten BPPS Building, he informed.

Some COVID-19 hospital inpatients have also recovered, he said.

"Most of the patients who just recovered from COVID-19 were infected with the Omicron variant with symptoms of cough, runny nose, and fever," he added.

The number of patients undergoing isolation has reduced dramatically, he said. Last week, there were 1,500 cases, however, now they are down to 996, he elaborated.
