Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-owned construction company PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PTPP) said it has distributed humanitarian assistance for flood victims in Serang, Banten, and quake victims in West Pasaman, West Sumatra.

The assistance for victims in Serang, Banten, was handed over directly by the PTPP’s social and environmental responsibility team (TJSL) and the Banten stadium project team to the Serang city police chief, Adjunct Sen. Coms. Maruli Achilles Hutapea, the company added.

"The company will continue to play an active role in providing assistance to victims of natural disasters," PTPP corporate secretary Yuyus Juarsa said in a statement released here on Saturday.

The company distributed as many as 500 staple goods packages and one thousand ready-to-eat food packages overall, he informed. According to the plan, the assistance will be distributed through 12 sub-district police units to areas affected by the flood, he said.

The company has provided staple goods, ready-to-eat foods, blankets, milk, and other essentials for victims of the flood in Serang, Banten, through the SOE disaster task force of Banten province, he informed.

The company has provided ready-to-eat foods, staple goods, toiletries and cleaning supplies, mats, mattresses, blankets, and milk for victims of the 6.1-magnitude quake that struck West Pasaman, West Sumatra, recently, he said.

PTTP's quick assistance provision to disaster victims is in line with the program of the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises (SOEs), namely the ‘SOEs for Indonesia’ program, he added.

"The company expresses its concern over the natural disasters that occurred, namely the flood that occurred in the Serang area, Banten and the earthquake that occurred in West Pasaman, West Sumatra," he remarked.

PTPP will continue to cooperate and coordinate with various parties to synergize the distribution of assistance to ensure smooth aid disbursal for victims, he said.
