Jakarta (ANTARA) - At least 2,614 patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 are undergoing treatment at the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, Jakarta, as of Wednesday, an official informed.

The number of patients has declined by 42 compared to 2,656 the previous day.

"Inpatients at Wisma Atlet Kemayoran COVID-19 Emergency Hospital in Towers 4, 5, 6, and 7, as of Wednesday, reaches 2,614. Meanwhile, the last figure on Tuesday was 2,656 people," an official from the Joint Regional Defense Command I, Septiono Prayogo, informed while providing an update here on Wednesday.

From March 23, 2020, to March 9, 2022, the total number of COVID-19 patients referred to the Wisma Atlet Kemayoran COVID-19 Emergency Hospital has been 160,771, he said.

Prayogo also provided an update on the COVID-19 situation in Galang Island's Special Hospital for Infection (RSKI), Batam, Riau Islands.

"In Galang Island Special Hospital, the number of inpatients increased by 72. From initially 322 people, today the number increased to 394 people," he said.

He then provided details on the current situation at the Wisma Atlet Pademangan COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, Jakarta.

According to Prayogo, the number of COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in Towers 8, 9, and 10 of the hospital as of Wednesday had reached 158, falling by 9 compared to 167 the previous day.

He also provided details on the number of workers and students who have returned from abroad and are currently being treated in Towers 1, 2, and 3 of the Pasar Rumput low-cost apartment (rusun) COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, Jakarta.

Compared to the day before, the hospital added 214 patients on Wednesday, he said.

"The number of inpatients at the Pasar Rumput COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, as of Wednesday, is 3,016 people, comprising 1,351 men and 1,665 women," he added.

Meanwhile, at Towers 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 of the Nagrak low-cost apartment (rusun) COVID-19 Emergency Hospital, the number of inpatients increased from 1,960 on Tuesday to 2,296 on Wednesday, with the addition of 336 new patients, he said.
