The development of PISA (Child Friendly Information Center) focuses on providing integrated information that children need with a child-friendly service approach
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Children have the right to receive literacy and child-worthy information to stimulate their intelligence, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry's Child Rights Fulfillment Deputy Agustina Erni stated.

"The development of PISA (Child Friendly Information Center) focuses on providing integrated information that children need with a child-friendly service approach," Erni noted through a press statement on Wednesday.

In connection with this, the ministry has developed PISA as a child-worthy information platform to fulfill the children's rights to worthy information as an effort to realize Child Worthy Indonesia by 2030.

PISA can be developed from various forms of information service for children that already exist in regions, such as libraries and mobile libraries, and reading corners.

Through PISA, every children can be facilitated in searching for and obtaining various types of affordable information suitable to their age and intelligence level.

Amid the prevalence of information that children can receive and access, there is a high likelihood of them obtaining age-inappropriate information, include ones having the elements of violence, pornography, radicalism, and sadism.

"A prevention and monitoring system should be in place, so that children are not exposed to negative content," Erni remarked.

This effort necessitates synergy from all parties to improve children's digital literacy capabilities.

The ministry has collaborated with the National Library as well as Communication and Informatics Ministry to disseminate child-worthy information from the central to other regions.

Erni expects that this effort can be responded by regional governments to develop PISA.

Good literacy capability, specifically for children, is expected to become a foundation for them to handle the stream of information in the digital world.

As a result, children will be able to avail their right to information and have the skills to filter information, so they are not easily provoked by unverified news.
