Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) will immediately evaluate implementation of Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia, or 2022 MotoGP Series, in Mandalika on March 18-20 for preparing to hold the World Superbike (WSBK) on November 11-13.

"The KSP will immediately conduct an in-depth evaluation of the MotoGP to prepare for the upcoming World Superbike at the end of 2022," Deputy I of KSP's Chief of Staff, Febry Calvin Tetelepta, noted in a written statement received here, Tuesday.

Tetelepta remarked that the KSP will evaluate the implementation of MotoGP Mandalika, right from the parking management to infrastructure outside the area and to the mapping of supporting facilities for circuit infrastructure.

In terms of the parking management, the KSP suggested the organizer to pay greater attention to the availability of shuttle buses that will take the spectators to and from the parking area to the circuit.

Regarding infrastructure outside the area, Tetelepta underlined the importance of completing the expansion of the Kuta-Keruak road that has the potential to create a bottleneck of traffic flow near the circuit area.

"Traffic management needs to be improved to reduce congestion, including from the circuit area to the accommodation location," he noted.

Tetelepta also conveyed that the mapping of supporting facilities was deemed necessary to help visitors in accessing essential infrastructure facilities in the circuit area.

Despite the shortcomings, he assessed that implementation of the MotoGP Mandalika had run well, especially that the return of the world's most prestigious racing event to the country in 25 years was able to make Indonesia stand at par with other countries having world-class circuits.

He noted that Mandalika had its own advantage in terms of its extraordinary natural scenery that has been recognized by MotoGP riders through their uploads on their social media.

Tetelepta believes that the presence of the Mandalika Circuit will drive new economic growth, increase the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with local West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) products, and revive the tourism sector affected by the crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"As a nation, we must thank President Joko Widodo, who has left behind a legacy for Indonesia in the future. It is ITDC's responsibility, as the operator of Mandalika and the NTB Provincial Government, to continue to maintain and develop the Mandalika area as a world-class circuit and for world tourism," he concluded.
