All praises be to God that the ceremony and flypast demonstration went smoothly and safely,Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) on Saturday held a ceremony to commemorate its 76th anniversary at the Air Force Academy (AAU) in Yogyakarta city, Yogyakarta province.
Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Fadjar Prasetyo, delivered the remarks during a press session at the AAU Aerospace Field here on Saturday.
The commemoration was themed ‘Based on the Spirit of Swa Bhuwana Paksa (means The Wings of the Nation), TNI AU is Ready to Maintain Airspace Security and Support the Government’s Programs to Recover the National Economy.’
"We should be very grateful that we could carry out a number of flypast aircraft demos at the commemoration ceremony for the first time in two years (due to the pandemic), although the event was implemented with strict health protocols and a limited number of invitees,” he said.
The aircraft which took part in the flypast demos included training planes from the Adisutjipto Air Base in Yogyakarta.
"All praises be to God that the ceremony and flypast demonstration went smoothly and safely," Prasetyo remarked.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, for his gifts.
The presents included a set of Javanese traditional ensemble musical instruments (locally called gamelan) and seedlings of Polynesian chestnut (Inocarpus fagifer), Manilkara kauk (locally called sawo kecik), kepel fruit (Stelechocarpus burahol), and Malay rose apple (Syzygium malaccense).
The governor presented 100 seedlings of each tree.
"The plants will make the environment of the AAU green. In addition to the AAU, I will disburse the tree seedlings to other TNI AU’s education institutions since we have to preserve the plants and continue to make our environment green. Hence, the trees will benefit us in the future," the Kasau added.
