Currently, we are awaiting the issuance of new rules for the PPPK selection mechanism for us to disseminate information and coordinate with all regional governments as soon as possibleJakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) is recruiting as many as 758,018 teachers through the contract-based government employee (PPPK) program in 2022.
In a written statement here on Wednesday, Director General of Teachers and Education Workers Iwan Syahril noted that so far, regional governments had only proposed 131,239 teachers, or 17.3 percent of the quota, to participate in the 2022 PPPK selection.
According to Syahril, the teachers proposed by the regional governments to participate in the selection include religious, arts and culture, kindergarten, as well as physical education teachers.

Syahril said that the ministry, along with the National Selection Committee, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, would continue to coordinate with regional governments regarding the recruitment of PPPK teachers.
"Currently, we are awaiting the issuance of new rules for the PPPK selection mechanism for us to disseminate information and coordinate with all regional governments as soon as possible. We are doing this, so that we can solve problems that arose in 2021 to prevent them from recurring in 2022 and to ensure that the recruitment process will be better," he remarked.

According to Syahril, phase 3 of the 2021 PPPK recruitment will be conducted along with the recruitment in 2022. Thus, a total of 970,410 teachers will be recruited.
Speaking in connection with the regional government's uncertainty regarding salary budgeting, he noted that Kemendikbudristek, along with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, had submitted the Circular of the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance of the Ministry of Finance Number S-98/PK/2021 that explains the calculation of PPPK teachers' salaries in the 2021 budget year allocation.
Syahril remarked that the Circular of the Director-General of Fiscal Balance Number S-204/PK/2021, which is addressed to governors, district heads, and mayors, explains the calculation of the budget for PPPK teachers in the General Allocation Fund (DAU) for the 2022 budget year.
