"This vaccination is indeed prioritized in areas where people depart for the Eid exodus, such as the Greater Jakarta area, West Java, Central Java, and big cities in East Java and cities outside Java, including Medan, Makassar, and its surroundings," Effendy noted in a written statement here on Wednesday.
The minister remarked that booster vaccination posts were also set up at the destinations in a bid to increase the rate of COVID-19 vaccination during Ramadan.
Complete and booster doses of vaccines are expected to protect travelers and their families in their hometowns against virus transmission.
Effendy has projected the people's enthusiasm this year to be high following no Eid exodus for two years. Around 80 million people are expected to partake during this year's homecoming.

"For the past two years, the government had not prepared an Eid exodus policy. This year, we will organize and prepare for the exodus as best as possible, right from aspects comprising the security forces, transportation, and medical care," he affirmed.
Spokesperson for the Health Ministry, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, stated that the COVID-19 vaccination post along the Lebaran 2022 exodus route had supplied up to one thousand doses of vaccine for the participants. She delivered the statement at the virtual press conference on Tuesday, April 12.
The supply depended on the size of the posts, she noted. Large posts could provide up to one thousand doses, while the small ones could offer 150-300 doses.

Tarmizi remarked that preparations, including dispatching vaccinator teams and management of vaccine supply, were still underway with the Transportation Ministry, National Defense Force, and Police Force for building vaccination posts along the route.
Some aspects to be taken into account while designating a vaccination post include the prospective location not posing a threat in terms of disrupting the traffic flow, she remarked.
