He has been recalled and will be soon inaugurated as an Army officer this weekAmbon, Maluku (ANTARA) - Army Chief of Staff General Dudung Abdurachman has said that Burmese descent cadet Henz Songjanan, who was earlier disqualified over the falsification of his nationality documents, can be installed as an Army officer.
"He has been recalled and will be soon inaugurated as an Army officer this week," Abdurachman informed after delivering a public lecture at Pattimura University, Ambon, Maluku, on Wednesday.
Earlier, Songjanan was disqualified from the Army's Officer Training Program (Dikmata) after his nationality document was determined to be forged by his father, Mikael Songjanan.
The army chief of staff said that while falsification of the nationality document is illegal, Songjanan, who had no idea about his nationality document being forged, must not face the consequences.

"His father was indeed wrong, but as a son that happened to attend Army cadet education and have no idea about (the document forgery), he must not receive the consequences," he remarked.
He informed that while administrative issues have been deemed as settled with the announcement of the final selection test result, the document will be further examined throughout the cadet's education period.
“(The cadet's documents) will not only be examined during the administrative selection, but we will continuously examine the documents during the cadet's education period. On-site officers and intelligence officers can examine the document," Abdurachman said.
In Songjanan's case, after the Army's administrative examination detected possible document violation, Mikael Songjanan, a Burmese national, falsified the nationality document for Henz Songjanan, which has, since then, been annulled by Tual City's Population and Civil Registration Office, the army chief of staff expounded.

"They have been living for decades in Maluku, and the consequences of violations committed by their parents must not be extended to their children. I have instructed the regional military commander to help resolve the administrative issue," he said.
Abdurachman confirmed that he has instructed XVI/Pattimura Regional Military Commander Major General Richard Tampubolon to assist the Songjanans in obtaining their nationality document, including reinstating the nationality documents earlier annulled by the Tual City authority.
