Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - State-owned tourism and aviation holding PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney, has prepared a tourism activity calendar for 2022 for three key programs to revive tourism on Bali Island.

The three key tourism programs cover sports, art and music, as well as cultural and culinary events, marketing and tourism program director of InJourney, Maya Watono, informed in a statement received here on Friday.

"In addition to the series of tourism activities, Indonesia is also preparing for the implementation of the 2022 G20 Summit,” she added.

Hence, she said she expects all Indonesian aviation and tourism stakeholders to collaborate well to welcome the summit.

President director of InJourney, Dony Oskaria, noted that the COVID-19 pandemic, which has lasted for two years, has stopped international tourist traffic and caused a significant decline in the tourism ecosystem on Bali Island.

Bali Island is the backbone as well as the barometer of Indonesia's tourism sector, he remarked.

Currently, there is an opportunity for Bali tourism to revive, considering that visa on arrival (VoA) services for 42 countries and a number of travel relaxations have started to be implemented at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali province, the president director said.

"Hence, we, as tourism actors, must attempt to provide various services that have a positive impact on all aviation and tourism players," he added.

The efforts include the landing fee discount provided by state-run airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I for airlines to attract them to reopen or add international flight routes to Bali Island, he said.

"It can encourage the growth of passenger traffic to restore the tourism sector in Bali Island. We expect that other tourism actors will also participate in providing promos or giving offers that can attract more tourists," he added.
