"For Eid transportation, ASDP has prepared everything from facilities, including docks and ships," General Manager (GM) of PT ASDP Bakauheni Branch, Suharto, stated when contacted here on Saturday.
Suharto noted that as many as seven docks were ready to be used for Eid transportation.
"The seven docks comprise one executive pier and six regular piers that have been repaired and are ready to be used for Eid transportation this year," he remarked.
To expedite operations during the Lebaran homecoming, Suharto noted that the counters for passengers and vehicles had also been increased.
"To anticipate the surge in passengers, we have added six portable counters for passengers and then there are additional five vending machines," he stated.
According to Suharto, some 70 ships were provided, including 65 regular ships and five express ships.
"Everything has been carefully prepared and to prevent the amassing of passengers, we have also provided a parking area inside the port," he revealed.
Suharto noted that the capacity of the parking area inside the port was recorded to be able to accommodate up to six thousand vehicles.
"If there is an amassing of people, then we will also prepare land to accommodate it temporarily. To check the status of vaccination as a requirement for going home, we have also coordinated with the related parties. We are optimistic that this readiness would make it easier for people to go home for Eid," he stated.
