Indonesian Muslims, in particular, condemn the brutal act committed by the Israeli security force.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The violence committed by Israeli security forces against Palestinians at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Friday morning is quite embarrassing, according to the Indonesian Ulemas Council (MUI).

"The act has increasingly convinced all of us that the country is really led by inhuman and uncivilized criminals. It is only criminals that commit such misdeeds, as they have no common sense and conscience," MUI Chief for Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Prof Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim noted in a written statement released on Saturday.

The Israeli security force insulted the place of worship, Al-Aqsa Mosque, as they did at the end of the holy month of Ramadhan last year, he noted.

"The Zionist security force has destroyed the religious atmosphere, committed violent act against Muslims performing services, and has ruined, disregarded, and destroyed humanity," he remarked.

All criminal acts are unacceptable to common sense and conscience, run counter to any religious teachings, and violate the law, including the international law, he emphasized.

"Indonesian Muslims, in particular, condemn the brutal act committed by the Israeli security force," he remarked.

Given the Israeli acts, countries that have diplomatic ties with Israel should increasingly become aware of the need to review their cooperation and diplomatic relations with the Zionist country, he affirmed.

The Zionist country's acts have also raised awareness that Israel cannot really be trusted, he stated.

"As the MUI has stated, all elements of the community need to take serious steps to boycott Israel's products, bring Israel to the international court of justice, and impose international sanctions on Israel," he stressed.

Hakim further urged the United States, which has so far supported Israel, to change its perspective of Israel, so that they can act more fairly and truly defend humanity.

"Joe Biden once pledged to stop evils when he was inaugurated a (US) president. He should really fulfill the pledge, so it will not be lip service. Israel has really got involved in evils for which the US should showcase its ability and capacity to stop Israel's brutality," he stated.
