"It is essential for us to be wary that the increasing trend of mobility did not only occur in the Eid homecoming exodus destinations, but occurred evenly in 33 out of 34 provinces across Indonesia," he pointed out at a press conference on COVID-19 handling, which was accessed online from here on Tuesday.
Adisasmito said that according to data from Google Mobility, as of May 6, 2022, an increase in mobility has been seen at retail outlets, recreational and grocery stores, parks, and public transportation centers. Meanwhile, overall, people's mobility in the workplace and offices has declined.
In retail and recreational spaces, West Sumatra has seen an increase of 110 percent, followed by Central Java, which has seen an 85-percent increase, and Lampung, which has recorded an 81-percent increase.
Meanwhile, in grocery stores, the increase in people's mobility in West Sumatra has reached 153 percent, followed by Lampung (127 percent) and Central Java (118 percent).
At parks, beaches, and public open spaces, an increase of 280 percent has been reported in West Sumatra, an increase of 225 percent has been recorded in Riau, and an increase of 219 percent has been seen in Lampung.

At public transportation centers, Lampung has experienced an increase of 237 percent, followed by Central Java (127 percent) and West Sumatra (71 percent).
"The only province that has recorded a decrease in mobility is Jakarta. The decrease has occurred in four of five survey locations, and an increase has only been found in parks, which is very low, namely 8 percent," he noted.
Due to the risk of COVID-19 transmission, he asked people to remain aware of their health and get tested if they experience COVID-19 symptoms to prevent putting vulnerable people at risk.
In addition, the community has also been urged to implement a healthy lifestyle, including continuously wearing masks.
