“(The G20 must) Build back more sustainable global trade system, demand for ensuring supply chains," Ambassador Sarekenov said during a special interview with ANTARA in Jakarta recently.

In the light of recent geopolitical trends, increasing security threats, trade and technological confrontations, and climate changes, a modern transformation of the world order is taking place, which is becoming the driving force for global economic conversion, he noted.
The realization that there is no alternative to a market economy—with the existence of competition as its main condition—raises the question to the world community not only about the need to form a more stable system of international relations, but also about the development of the most effective measures to ensure the functioning of the world economic system, he said.
In this context, he highlighted the similarities in the messages delivered by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the 76th UN General Assembly last autumn.
"I would share several views that both leaders emphasized and indicated as the need for appropriate actions for the international community, which I think could be brought to the G20 forum," he said.
The messages include the critical importance of multilateralism and international solidarity in terms of global trade so that a more sustainable global trading system can be built and supply chains can be ensured.
He also emphasized the need for mobilizing global health resources to ensure equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines to reduce the gap between “vaccinated” advanced economies and “unvaccinated” emerging or developing markets.
Technology transfer and technical support as well as the development of the capacity of human capital also need to be carried out to create more jobs, he added.
Then, low carbon development and the transition from fossil energy to green technologies should also be pursued to achieve climate resilience, he said.
